I have been feverishly weaving off a long warp that in many ways was very
encouraging. First I was weaving with some non-trendy handspun yarns that I
had overdyed a multitude of colours mostly reds/browns/yellows with an
interesting tabby thread of multi types of thin yarns - a bit of an
experiment......so I got to the end of the weft pattern yarn & was at a
loss of what to do with rest of warp....should I cut it off! Well I didn't
finally - I got out some interesting rag strip balls that obviously were
leftovers from somewhere else & finished off the warp with them.
The reason I wanted the warp to be gone was so I could tie on some finer
thread & resley it to make my sister her present......I thought I would
probably get a narrow ummmm scarf of say 3-4" wide but on loom I have
gotten 6" because I realised I didn't need to sley it at 24epi. The warp is
in what is deemed paua colours - blues & turquoise/jade & the pattern weft
is double blue & single jade - only done about 3" but looks real nice. Now
all I have to do is get it woven :-))) before the 25th all finished!
Spinning coming along real dandy with the East Frieisan I have joined an
email list about being productive & we have to report ummmm fortnightly
about where we are at! So I've decided that the above has to be done but
also when I get the 2 bobbins plied it's back to the polwarth and cashmere
combination. Trying to be productive and get on top of the stash before I
go out and buy more! Well that's what I'm saying now <hehehehehehe>
