I spun some cat hair - 100%, saved for me by a groomer. It had been brushed out and was quite nice, about 1 1/2 inches long (Persian or some such). Spun quite fine, tight, and plied. It is about like spinning dog hair, and if you want to practice before you do the cat hair I would suggest doing a skein of dog.
