There is a panel of "bricks" that a small flame heats up. The bricks put out the heat, not a flame as in fireplaces, wood stoves, gas cook stoves, kerosene heaters, etc., which are in thousands of homes. I have used them all of my life and I am not dead yet, so I don't think the hot bricks will kill anyone.
