This is off-topic and yet related: it had always bugged me that Pieceworks writes such great historical background and technical information on so many different needlework disciplines and then blows all credibility on a simplistic, kindergarten-type project.
I've written to them to tell them that it's demeaning to the readers to know that the info was comprehended and yet the project didn't reflect the complexity of the article. Yes, it's OK to publish that type for beginners but I feel that a good portion of the subscribers can readily jump in on an intermediate or advanced level and that occasionally a design of that level should be included or offered.
