Wow, that was back when we had to use two cans, a string and a typewriter to get on the internet, wasn't it? Many congratulations on maintaining what might be the oldest fiber-related BB/mailing list on the web. And a good job, too, Ron. You're one of the best listmoms there is.

My Lendrum question for the spinners in the audience:

I know there's no lubrication needed for the wheel itself (closed bearing hub), but has anyone any experience with lubing any other part of a Lendrum. I have two, and I get these odd squeaks now and then with both. They are double-treadle folding wheels - one is maple (my first and oldest love; my Lennie) and the other is the 25th anniversary walnut (couldn't resist; after all, if one is good then two are better, right? This one is - natch - Wally). It's hard for me to hear exactly where the squeaks are coming from, but when they start, I usually start with the flyer assembly and bobbin shafts. I then work down from there, ending up with the treadle attachments. Sometimes it works in one or another of the places, so I thought I'd consult the collective wisdom to see if anyone has any "Oh, yes! That's happened to me and it's always <blank> that needs oiling" Otherwise, I'll continue with my hit and miss process. Oh, and usually the squeaking doesn't affect the action - it continues to spin as smoothly and effortlessly as usual. That squeaking is just annoying, and I try to stop it.

Thanks for any advice.

Glenna
