I used to work for a floral wholesaler. One of my duties was caring for the lilies. I still have a cotton t-shirt with what looks like a rust stain on the front. It was from the pollen on the anthers. We plucked them off as the lilies opened because they would stain the petals. I now have lilies growing in pots that bloom every July. Every year I keep thinking that I should give it a try as a dye. Not only did it stain my skin (not just fingers), but also stained my t-shirt, despite despite stain removers and 10 years worth of washing. (Its fine for working with the sheep, in the garden, or painting.)

When we worked in the Bannana plants , the flowrs would make a stain [
mauve ---black , that never would come out in washing , i recomend
