How do I make the comparison between my handspun yarn to commercial yarn
for patterns.
Many, if not most, commercial yarns now list yardage on their skeins,
(so do many patterns) and if your gauge is the same, you can just
measure the yardage of your handspun. A niddy-noddy is a good way to
get a rough estimate of yardage - count the # of wraps, then measure the
length of one wrap.
