I've been hand knitting heavy wool socks for DH for all of our 52+ years together. My Mother gave me a pair of adjustable blockers for them - but they are too large for my feet. Anyway - why block - to keep the shape, of course. As wool socks tend to felt somewhat in wearing if you have blockers the correct size they will block back to their original shape, and they dry mush faster than if laid flat. Or at least that my reason for blocking - just like a sweater or any other apparel. Anita in chilly NH, USA -------------------------------------------------------------- Why use a sock blocker? Inquiring minds want to know :)
