Letty Klein sent me a copy of her new book, The Shepherd's Rug (written
with Ann Brown). What a neat book! I never thought I'd be interested
in braiding rugs out of roving--I want to spin the stuff, not braid it!
But I have to say after seeing the pictures of the rug in her book,
I'm trying to figure out how I can set aside enough roving to finish my
sweater and still have enough to make a small rug for in front of the
fireplace :)
All the sheep-related quotes in the book are fun, too. Everything from
Little Bo-peep to a translation of a piece by Virgil on how to manage
sheep well. And I found the section on how wool grows and the different
types of fibers found in fleeces especially interesting. Nice to have
all that information gathered in one place.
Neat book, I'm glad to have a copy!
