Thanks, everyone, for the thoughts on waterproof wool. I didn't know 
that the lanolin will be there for a good long time.  That was interesting.
Sara - from an earlier posting, what is a 'dike sheep'?  Grazes on the 
dikes?  What breed?  Where?
