I am still out here. My mother wants to knit a tunic for my sister with my grey and white handspun. She wants my 2ply, I think that is about 12 wraps/inch. I figure I need to spin 3 bobbins of singles in each color. I have only filled one so far. My wheel is a Reeves framed.
Other fiber news is that we came home from the animal shelter with a young rough collie. I have been introducing him to property borders, neighbor heifers, my sheep, the chickens etc. Our horses have promised to pound his tail if he dares enter their domain. Which is nice, he won't sneak in for some unauthorized sheep herding with out them chasing him. The horses are very protective of the sheep. So far he does not show the border collies over whelming need to herd. Which is perfect for us as we have not enough for a sheep dog to do. His collie job is to keep track of sons and the yard and fetch someone if I fall down the well ;~) So far all the fiber harvested from him is full of burs.
