The comment was made about "carding wrong." I've seen so many people
scraping the cards against each other and just shook my head. Great
way to damage your fiber. I've gotten wonderful results by using a
rocking motion from the shoulder. I don't think that there is any
movement in my elbow and very little in my wrist.
I put the butt end of a lock on the edge of the card and then grab
just the tips using a rocking motion. I gradually work my way up the
lock and up the card, rocking, not scraping.
I think that the curved shape helps with the rocking motion and that
there is more of a tendency to scrape with a flat card.
I have both the Clemes & Clemes and the Ashford hand cards. They
both feel the same in my hands.
