I used a flying shuttle and it was adjusted to feed off the textured
handspun singles with very little tension. Draw-in was maybe 1.5 inches
total, which is practically nothing on a 54" weaving width.

The warp was wound under tension onto the beam, but since it was only
2.5 yards long, and on a 2-yard circumference beam, that did nothing.
The brake was adjusted to give just enough tension to keep an open shed
for the flying shuttle.

IOW, it was just this down-type wool that caused the shrinkage :)
