Since karakul sheep are raised primarily for the lamb pelts, there is not a 
lot of "lore" about the fleeces. Spun as shorn they make wonderful rugs. 
Since it is such a coarse wool, there is not a lot of excitement among the 
spinners who mainly covet fine and soft.
Best advice - sample what you have. Since there are not a lot of these sheep 
around, there isn't a lot of standards, and many animals labeled "karakul" 
may be crosses anyway.
