Yup, nothing wrong with USB2 (so long as it's not plugged and unplugged too many times). I have lots of USB and no FW in use, never had an issue. But somewhere I read that Firewire<->SCSI adapters were an easier and simpler engineering prospect, and potentially less prone to driver issues than USB2<->SCSI, because FW and SCSI were releated protocols.
