Well, two things: 1. the address you are subscribed under should be the one in the headers of the email messages you receive from the listserv. 2. mailman allows administrators to bulk subscribed/unsubscribe list members (I administer a couple of very low-volume mailman listservs). That means there should be no problem for Henry to unsubscribe you if you want. > It's been a great time since 1995, but in 1995 I got about 10 - 15 emails > per day, I'm now up to over 100 (and some days 150 - 200), which get more > cluttered by 10 - 15 digests, _none_ of which I bother to try and read. I don't like digests that much, myself, as it makes replying harder (you have to change the subject, you have to create your own attributions, and if you want to preserve threading, you have to manually change the In- Reply-To message ID; unless, of course, you have software that can decompose a digest into individual messages). However, I do subscribe to one high-volume list that sends 3 digests a day. During the business week, the two daytime digests often approach 100K. One way to manage this kind of thing is to filter the messages to their own folder. Another is to use a free email account for the subscription itself, and then retrieve that account's mail only once a day. Just checking the mailman administrator interface, it seems that you can't actually set how many digests get sent per day, but you choose the size threshold for sending out a digest. The default is 30KBs. That combined with another setting would allow you to have one per day, as the other setting is: Should a digest be dispatched daily when the size threshold isn't reached? So, if you set the digest threshold to 1000KBs and set the latter setting to YES, it would send out one per day. (To Henry: this is all on the Digest-member Options screen) -- David W.
