[Jari Williamsson:]
What I've said is that Igor's slurs and ties does not have the ability to
conform to any publisher's style. The replies I got are the usual "I think
they look good". If you care about engraving detail/precision, you want it
to look _right_, not just good.
[Myself:]
When I said I was attentive to detail, I suppose I was thinking from the
point of view of reading, understanding, and handwriting music notation - not so
much minute details of publishers' house-styles, differences between fonts, and
the like. However, with the level of understanding I already have of notation,
I imagine it at least gives me a head-start to learning the other type of
detail, should I take up engraving. (And I'm not committed to it yet; I'm just
fishing around to see what the prospects are like before deciding.) And of
course, if I get into this, I accept the need to learn about house-styles and so
on - things which up to now I have had no need to delve into.
Regards,
Michael Edwards.
