[snip of good explanation for having purchased Igor]

The big issue is that Igor is NOT a true professional engraver's tool --
it cannot come close to emulating the high-quality output that clients
deserve when they pay professional rates to a computer-engraver to give
them professional-looking printouts.

Igor can produce music people can read. So can NoteWorthyComposer and
serveral other inexpensive programs. When you have heard people say
they like Igor's output have you shown them examples of the same music
from Sibelius and Finale for comparison? Or are they just thrilled that
they can finally read easily what had previously been only illegible
chicken-scratch manuscript?

But Igor can't come close to Sibelius or Finale when it comes to
appearance of printed output. Using it while seeking work as a
professional copyist would be like showing up in a 1985 Chevy station
wagon for your first client as a limousine service. Shure the station
wagon will get your client to the wedding, but it ain't a stretch
Cadillac or Lincoln or an elegant Rolls! And you won't get any repeat
business or any references from that gig!

If you are going to offer professional services, you will need to
purchase either or both Sibelius or Finale. Score will be of only
limited use, primarily for publishing companies who require Score files
only (and composers who are having their music published by those
publishers). There is also Graphire Music Press, but I haven't heard of
many people asking specifically for that output.

But Igor is not going to establish a good reputation for you.
