Which I think pretty much sums it up. There is no objective way to compare
notation software as such. We all know that certain things the software does
not support can be achieved using work arounds (ie clef after barline at the
beginning of a system, ie after key sig - not supported by Finale, but still
possible). Other things that are supported don't work properly.

A feature comparison will not bring us any further either.

So in the end the hope is to get some real experts for each piece of
software. The more I think about it the more important I think the "problem
sheet" is going to be, and I am hoping the participants are going to be
honest about it.

I think what is going to happen is this: we will have a "winner", which is a
person, and this will not necessarily say much about the software. At the
same time I want a result on the software, partly judged on the output
produced and partly judged on the problem reports.

In know this cannot be completely objective.
