In 12/8 time, rhythm= dabbitty,dabbitty, dah-dah-dah. repeated several
times. (Same effect as "America" from West Side Story- but I know that's in
6/8,)
The 'big triplet' at the end of each measure is correctly notated- crotchet,
quaver-quaver (tied), crotchet. Problem is the two qs are spaced too far
apart and it looks very clumsy- I usually 'note-mover' then closer together
manually, giving a visual clue to the "c=2q" effect. Can I pre-request
preferred spacing on this particular feature only? Or is the concensus of
opinion that I use 3 quarter notes instead? This 'hides' the fourth beat,
but is certainly 'cleaner' looking.

Another 12/8 prob. I like to use dotted half note rest, quarter rest, eighth
rest, then (possibly) note on 4th beat. If I mass-move this measure it
changes to(assuming quarternote=q, eighthnote= e,)
qrest, erest, qrest, erest, qrest, erest, note. Why does it change? Can I stop
it?

A quick aside! Having seen the various 'codes' used to try to explain things
(q=quarternote, qr=quarter rest etc) can we- as a group, come up with a
standard code? One prob is of course that to many people q= quarternote,
while to others q=quaver. One suggestion of mine would be - )once we've
agreed what q equals!) is that e.g.Q=note, and q=rest, E=note, e=rest. Pitch
could be in brackets after value. or, we could use keyboard symbols-e.g.
quarternote=@, eighth=* but I think we'd run out of options. Sorry to go on
but it's an ongoing problem!

BTW, did anyone else on the list receive a [Finale] (flagged!) message about
a PORN website?
It was very quickly deleted, but I seem to remember it was from a woman- and
Yes,- it was Finale flagged in the subject box! It's a worry!

Regards, Keith in OZ.
