You have my deepest condolences. After Earthlink bought my ISP they claimed for months that they did not even provide DSL in my area even though my DSL still worked (sporadically) and they were billing me for it. Tech support would deny that my line existed and customer service (apparently located in a Far Eastern country) was clueless. The departments are completely isolated from each other and cannot communicate. I spent perhaps 20 hours on hold over several months before switching to a local provider (Willamette Valley Internet). Tech support answers on the first ring and customer service and tech support can talk face-to-face any time.
