This is not what happens in Finale 2002 for Mac, or any previous version 
of Finale I have used.  I don't believe it happens (under normal 
circumstances) with Finale 2002 or Finale 2003 for Windows, either, 
since no one on this list has ever remarked on this problem.  I suspect 
you have inadvertently changed the transposition settings or some such, 
because what you describe is not normal behavior at all.  Try opening a 
template or creating a new blank document and see if the problem 
persists.
