There are two flavors of clarinets lower than the normal Bb bass clarinet, and their terminology seems to get somewhat hazy.
One of them is pitched in Eb and sounds an octave lower than the Alto clarinet and the other is pitched in Bb and sounds an octave lower than the Bass clarinet. The Eb instrument is most properly called contra-alto but is often called contrabass. The Bb instrument is properly the contrabass.
