> And on behalf of the students who walk into my arranging class steaming and > muttering some variation of "I HATE Finale!" I have to say that power users > and beginners are in very, very different classifications and situations! Yep. Whereas, in the engraving house I worked in last summer, the "I HATE Sibelius!" mantra would be chanted many times each day. Or sometimes, when it got really bad, we would just sit there and stare silently at the screen in disbelief. Not that Finale doesn't have its share of problems, or cause its share of frustration, but Sib 1.4 was so thoroughly buggy and inflexible and required such tedious workarounds for problems that can be solved in a single click (or one plugin-invocation) in Finale that just knowing how much easier the project would have been using the Distinguished Competition was a source of frustration in and of itself. So you can console your arranging students with the knowledge that, at every stage of their development, they will always find reasons to hate the software they are currently using. - Darcy ------ [EMAIL PROTECTED] Boston, MA _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
