Very interesting. My Italian friends have told me otherwise. Can you name a
source that I could cite to them?

If I were paying attention I would have noticed the "fr" in your email
address. I hope my comment gave no offense. I certainly didn't mean to
imply that the French spelling is pretentious -- only that to use a French
spelling in an otherwise English document would appear so.

If your document is French or multilingual, then of course there's no problem.
