Ricordi uses this style as well (but if your goal is to imitate Ricordi
you're already out of luck, because they use a baseline hyphen, and Finale
doesn't support that).

I think you go too far in implying that showing the hyphen at the beginning
of the system is more correct.  That may be the traditional style for
Novello and Ricordi, but most publishers don't do it that way.
