Just as a follow-up, based on the following it looks to me like the new
1 GHz iMac is likely to boot into OS X only:
The
iMac with the 1GHz is a brand new logic board that uses 200 Pin DDR
memory
and is only offered in the 17". For the iMac G4 with the 17" Flat
Panel,
only the 1GHz processor is offered. The iMac G4 with 15" is only
available
as an 800MHz and it continues to use the PC133 memory based logic
board.
