To me, EVPUs are just too small to be useful -- the numbers become enormous very very quickly, and it's hard (for me at least) to relate to them as a meaningful unit of measurement. (I know lots of people on the list disagree, but... ).


I use points. Points are nice because they are one nudge of the arrow key at 100%, and it's easy to relate points to the 24-point staff height. And in those circumstances where you actually need the precision of EVPUs, I still find it easier to think of, say, 2.75 points (which means something to me), rather than 11 EVPUs (which means nothing to me).
