I'm working on a piece for tenor sax & piano and have been inputting with concert pitch displayed. Parts of the piece are with standard key signatures, and parts are in free non-tonality. Now I want to switch over to showing the tenor sax in the correct transposition and still have accurate pitches on midi playback.
That would be easy if it were all in key signatures, but the non-tonal sections should have no signature in the saxophone rather than looking like D Major. I can't figure out how to transpose some sections with signature and some sections without, and still have the midi come out right.

In the Staff Assignment dialog, set the transposition to Chromatic, and check the Independent Key Sig. box. Then put the non-tonal passages in nominal C major.
