I'm working on a piece for tenor sax & piano and have been inputting with
concert pitch displayed. Parts of the piece are with standard key signatures,
and parts are in free non-tonality. Now I want to switch over to showing the
tenor sax in the correct transposition and still have accurate pitches on midi
playback.
Can't you just create a staff style with the key signature item uncheck. It
would hide the key signature for the region you need to apply it to.
No, that won't work for MIDI playback. This would mean that it would actually be in D, so an F or a C with no accidental will actually be sharp. It needs to be transposed and actually in "natural" key (what I call the "no sharps, no flats, but not C major either" key).
