When planning for the final layout of a work, I always determine separately from the staff / system / page sizes, what size I want the lyrics and other text blocks to be on the final page. Then I divide the desired final size by the decimal values of the staff, system, and page, as need be. Thus, if I want the final lyrics to be 12 point (1/6th of an inch high), on a page where the page reduction will be 85 percent, the system reduction an additional 75 percent and the staff reduction 50 percent of that, I divde 12 by .85, then by .75, then by .50, and set the "font size" to 37. Besides this, I occasionally take recourse to condensed fonts, and would, if necessary, also use a wide font. Those of you that use system reduction, did you compensate for [reduction in size of font] this and what size if so.
Or am I confused...(again)?No. Your Richard. Confused is someone else, who doesn't look anything like you, and doesn't impersonate you on the internet.
