In other words, I should change the approach I've been using successfully for getting my files to come out right since, oh, I don't know, 1994 or so? Is there something wrong with this picture? Why should blank notation be used in spacing? Why is it that it didn't used to be and now it is? First off, I *hate* hidden notes. At least with blank notation, when you enter the layer in the Speedy frame, you can see the notes (which you can't with hidden notes). There are also weird interactions with articulations and expressions. Blank notation has weird interactions, too, but I've formatted all my files with these in mind, and having to go back and change all of them to use a completely new method is a real pain in the ass. I've got dozens of files that I'm right now trying to produce PDFs for and font problems aside (for whatever reason, font names seem to have changed between WinFin97 and WinFin2K3), I've got lots of issues with layouts not coming out the same as they did, so that I'm having to redo them. It's a royal mess, and I seem to need to redo the page layout in more than half the files. It's *extremely* frustrating. -- David W.
