I agree to, I'm actually working on a G5 with fin2k4, wich is much more stable in OSX. Even if OS 9 is non bootable, it's still present within OS X, so you just have to double click any OS 9 application and that'll run directly in system 9 (in a shot). My disappointment is for the EPS export capability, which finale2k4 still has not got; it's like, let's say, ordering, over her in Italy, a plate of spaghetti and having it served with a tinned sauce! Well, almoust, but this is a little out of topic.

I agree, the new features in Finale 2004 are great, and it is VERY stable in OS X. I wouldn't dream of going BACK to an older version.

I personally would not go this route. Get the G5, if you want to avoid
Finale 2k4 for now, run 2k3 in Classic.
I also think that 2k4b is usable in OS X. I have a relatively slow machine,
but I would not want to go back to 2k3. I would not want to give up some of
the new features, especially expressions. Plus Finale is in my experience
more stable in OS X than it ever was in OS 9.

So unless you have other reasons for keeping an OS 9 bootable system, go for
the fastest machine you can afford. I envy you.
