To be honest, I think you are going to be out of luck here. MIDI in Classic has never been particularly reliable. The only thing I can imagine is that your files contain some MIDI command which crashes or disables OMS or something in the chain translating from Classic to Core. The solution is to get the 2k4 update and use Finale under OS X. Fin2k2 was not really ever very good in Classic.
