Fact is that for lines (or slurs) that are almost horizontal, printers with
unequal resolutions like 600x1200 are disadvantageous. They can print almost
perfect nearly vertical lines, but nearly horizontal lines will suffer.

For Text printing this doesn't really matter much, since Text contains
hardly any nearly horizontal lines. For music this is different.

600dpi is pretty good, and perhaps you don't mind the difference. I used to
have a 300x600dpi printer and the problem was very apparent there.

However, for others 600dpi may not be enough.
