Following this line of thought, the PowerBook that had a press release about it before this one was a PowerBook G4. http://www.apple.com/pr/library/2001/dec/17powerbook.html I don't know if it helps, but when you're looking, just be sure to ask when the computer was made. If its original ship date was before January 2002, you should be okay.
