Hi Jef,

Yeah, of course, you can partition an external FW drive any way you like. Some older macs cannot boot from FW drives, but most new ones have no trouble doing so.

As for your Finale registration, though, AFAIK it resides on the computer, not the drive -- so you will still have to register and un-register each computer as you go.
