There is no task bar on the mac. If you're using OS X, it's the Dock. Simply click and drag the icon out of the dock.<<
Okay, then, the dock. As I said, my expertise is on the PC, and dragging an icon out of anywhere and putting it anywhere else, including the trash, would not mean the end of it. I'd like to find out what it is, and why it remains there in order to become more enlightened about the MAC and how it does odd little things like this, and for what reason.

ITunes popped up when I put the CD in, as it always does.
