Linda:

I don't know if you are using the lyric tool or not, but I was and it was horribly slow. Some very nice folks on the list told me to try going from automatic to manual inre hyphens and word extentions. It made all the difference. The path was: Options>program options>view>manually.

If you aren't dealing with text, than I have nothing to offer.

Listers: Please forgive a question about what is probably an old, much discussed subject.

I returned to Finalelist recently (long hiatus too boring to explain) after upgrading to finmac2004. I had been using 2002 for years and saw no reason to upgrade until they got the X version working. When I bought 2004 I asked to get it only after the upgrade, rather than get the earlier (more buggy, I assume) version. Got it, installed it, loved it. Mostly.

There are a few things I wish they'd left alone, but overall, it's really terrific, with a lot of the earlier system 9 things improved. BUT... has there been tons of discussion about how bloody slow the redraw is in 2004?

It has diminished my productivity waiting for the various redraw processes to work. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that I'm missing out on. Is there yet another upgrade that fixes this? Is my computer too slow? (G4, pretty speedy with everything else). Will a faster G5 fix this? Is it something in the works to be fixed by Coda? Is everyone already tired of complaining about it?

Sorry if this is something that has been discussed to death whilst I was out of the loop.
