In GPO Studio, you create a "virtual ensemble", where you set up
the 64 (8*8) channels to be players/sections in that ensemble.
There are a number of things that are controlled in GPO Studio for
each instrument that are (using traditional MIDI) normally done by
MIDI controllers, such as panning within the ensemble, balance
between the instruments and so on. The room type and such things
are also controlled from within GPO Studio. All these settings are
then saved in a file that describes that ensemble.
So, each channel represents a musician, or a group of musicians.

Use text expressions (printing or non-printing). In my Fin2005 review
I objected against HP who doesn't track channel changes appearing
mid-staff, when it gives the warning messages about channel
conflicts.
