The oddest part in the movie, for Louisvillians, is when Murray heads to the airport in the cab- he goes across the Clark Bridge toward Indiana! What WAS he thinking? (Poetic license, I suppose.)
Nah, he just got directions from the same person who gave Bob Newhart directions in how to get home on his television show in the '70's. For those unfamiliar with Chicago, the show opened with Newhart on the "CTA" train, detraining at the end of the line, Wilmette Station, and walking to his high rise on Lake Shore Drive, about a dozen miles and about a dozen stations away.
That kind of thing is SOP in TV and movies. I used to get serious chuckles watching the SciFi network's "The Invisible Man" series, as it was shot in my neighborhood.
Angle 1 would be the characters in a car driving down road A.
Angle 2 (same dialogue, seconds later) would be road B, half a mile away.
And they would inter cut these to get the most interesting backgrounds for the conversation until they turned a corner and ended up a mile away, headed back toward where they had started.
And then pulling up to a building near none of these locations.
BUt it looked good on screen.
