Well, I am not quite sure what you mean. The slur's arc is determined by 
what you set it to. There are different settings for short, medium, long 
and extra long slurs. They all need to be set to make all slurs look the 
way you want.

Thanks, Johannes, but I must have expressed myself poorly, because this 
does not do what I want, and doesn't seem to change anything. What I 
meant is that a slur between two notes an octave apart isn't _arched_ or 
curved enough, compared to a slur between two notes a second apart (i.e. 
the chord of the arc is proportionally smaller).
