I hope I didn't start some disturbance to this list. I sure didn't want
to start any Mac vs Win thread. I run four Macs, three Win2Ks, and two
Mandrake Linux here. Since I am new to this list, I am not sure if this
backup thread is OT, but I am already involved so let me clarify a few things.

Is HD more reliable than Optical?
It depends on what you believe from your experiences, but you have to
pick the kind which you believe that is reliable than others. Seagate
3.5" and Toshiba 2.5" are the only HD kinds I trust. Taoyo Yuden and
Mitsui are the only CDR manufactures I trust, and Apple DVDR is the only
DVDR media I buy. This is because they are more reliable than other
kinds in my experiences.

I run a DAW studio, and I buy a lot of these medias including a stack of
HDs. Just make sure never buy HD with less than 3 year warranty :-)
