At my old university, there were two people named Adam Taylor. Me and some
fourth year guy. Surprised the hell outta me when I found my name signed up
for music computer lab time some Friday at 8 AM.

There are two John Williamses IIRC--one a jazz pianist and one a movie

Likewise with John Eaton-one jazz pianist, one composer.
Jim "no relation to either" Williams
If you are referring to "Johnny Williams" the jazz pianist around in the
early 50's they are one and the same.
And the classical guitarist, and the conductor of a community band in
Golden, Colorado! And there's the Ray Charles of the Ray Charles
Singers. And on, and on.
When I was on the road full-time, it was interesting to see how many John
Howells there were in various places. My namesake in Chicago was an
excellent trumpet player with the unfortunate reputation of messing up in
the final minutes of recording sessions so they had to go into
overtime. He still got hired, so he must have been pretty good!
