I was really comfortable with CHP, but our OS X computers came with Dreamweaver installed. It's close enough in function that I was able to transfer from Home Page, although I'm sure I don't understand half of what it can do. Since it was supplied, I don't know what it cost.
Although I have DreamWeaver (version 3.0, which is a good old product) I would advice against any Macromedia product.
The upgrade policy is NOT what you would expect for such expensive products. I learned some months ago that DW 3 can't be upgraded anymore, since the Macromedia policy is to just allow upgrades for the latest 2 versions.
I can see the problem, then. Gee, our university gives us some expensive software! This was issued in 2002, and is v. 6.0, MX, Educational Version, and they probably cut a pretty good deal for a university-wide site license.
