Funny, I'm not sure I ever knew that you could use dragging with the Mass Mover. I've been using shift-opt-click (on Mac) since time immemorial. I do most of my data entry in scroll view, so except for small copies going a short distance dragging wouldn't be possible anyway.
That was no doubt even more the case in the old days when screens were small. I learned Finale with version 2.5 on a little Mac SE with the built-in monitor. On occasion, if I had a long string of small notes, I'd have a single measure that didn't fit comfortably on the screen in its entirety.
