Have you ever scanned a document into a computer and run OCR software
on it to convert it to digital text?

Well, all that is needed for a non-human to convert that graphic into
a digital email address is to OCR the graphics. Given how many places
on the web that use graphics to force a human being to verify that
they are a human being, and that obfuscate the graphics, I think it's
pretty clear that there are plenty of bots that know how to do OCR.
