I don't think there is any danger that Finale would loose things in a process, the process just gets put on hold for the time it saves. But while you are inputting notes with Speedy it will not respond to the input, thus lose notes.
Autosave _should_ be quite save, although I seem to remember there was a danger in relation with the File overwrite bug. Does anyone know whether this bug is finally gone in 2k6?
