I have a thing about Finale backup. Being a Finale user since 1987 with
v1.0 ($1,000!), I have lost a lot of Finale files. They magically
disappear from current directory as well as backup volumes, and you
don't notice it until you need it again, which in my case usually a few
years later when I need a new arrangement for my shows.

In my case, files backed up to external HDs are equally venerable, not
to mention HD shouldn't be a preferred backup media because of its
limited shelf life. All the Finale files I backed up with Retrospect to
tape drives are fine so far, but they are also not 100% reliable.
Unfortunately I stopped using Retrospect Workgroup since I couldn't
justify expensive upgrade cost and their expensive paid support when I
lost two tapes.

Now I backup the entire 600MB+ Finale file directory to iDisk every 5 AM
automatically. I have lost no file so far :-)
