You had a file open for days? !!!!!
You must have a lot more faith in Apple than I have in Microsoft.
If this bug has only bitten Mac users, maybe that's because Windows
users rarely leave a file open for more than a few hours ;-)
Well, Macs don't crash all that often in these post-OS9 days!
Seriously, though, most of the problems I have had with FinMac and the
overwrite bug (up to 2005; I don't have 2006 yet) involved Finale being
open for long periods of time (and sometimes the same file being open
for a long time, too.)
Karen had suggested that I reboot once a week at least, and since then
I have rarely seen anything to bother me. She thought that it might be
related to excessive paging, which I understand involves temp files, so
maybe that strengthens the supposition that these bugs are
temp-related.
